NCT/UCC Network Brain Tumors
Research groups and clinicians of the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus, the Technische Universität Dresden, the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics and the Research Center Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf are cooperating under the umbrella of the NCT/UCC to perform brain tumor research projects aimed at individual therapeutic strategies for tumor patients. Established tumor boards and regular meetings of the network partners are platforms for discussing projects and strategies. The network will build common structures for the fast exchange of information between research groups, e.g. a shared brain-tumor-bio-database merging all information about clinical, genetic and material-data. New translational research projects are aimed at the analysis of genetic aberrations of brain tumors, which may serve as therapeutic targets. Our goal is the fast implementation of new scientific findings in clinical studies and clinical patient management.
